Welcome to Five B Bonsai,

My interest in Bonsai began in 1973, after purchasing a maple at a Bonsai nursery near where I live. I still have it 32 years later. I joined the Bonsai Kai (the oldest Bonsai club in Europe) and soon became involved on their committee. Mounting their exhibits at the Chelsea Flower Show, where over the years we have been awarded several Gold Medals.

In the 80's I started giving lectures to Garden and Bonsai clubs. I also ran courses at my local adult education college. Which led to the formation of the Mid Herts. Bonsai Club, of which I am Honorary President. In 2002 I became a judge for the Royal Horticultural Society, specialising in Bonsai exhibits and have judged at all their major shows.

I have been making pots for Bonsai nearly as long as I have been growing Bonsai. In 1995 I formed FIVE B BONSAI to teach the art of Bonsai and make Bonsai pottery. I specialise in making small pots for Mame and Shohin Bonsai, although I do make all sizes!
